ASP
Active Server Page - This is an HTML page that  Microsoft servers use  that  include scripts and/or embedded programs for advanced features
Bandwidth

AKA: data transfer, or the volume of data transferred from a web site's server.  The larger the bandwidth, the more data that can be transmitted.
This quantity is the outbound traffic from your website, usually defined on a monthly basis.  This means that if your web site transfers 100 KB of data every time your web site is viewed and you get 10,000 visitors a month then you've transferred only 1 GB, or 1000 MB, of data for that month. 
 1 Gigabyte (GB) = 1000 Megabytes (MB) , 1 Megabyte (MB) = 1000 Kilobytes (KB) , 1 Kilobyte  (KB) = 1000 Bytes

Banners
An advertisement linking to another web site, the web site hosting the banner usually receives a commission.
CGI
Common Gateway Interface - This is a small program or script used by a web page to process advanced functions such as searches and mathematical computations to deliver back to the user.
Data Transfer
Generally referred to as the amount of data which passes through a network, and sometimes used to describe a measurement of bandwidth usage.
Disk Space
The amount of data stored on the hard drive of a computer.
Domain Name
The name used to identify a web page or other resource on the internet. For example, www.google.com, is a domain name.
FrontPage
A web design program by Microsoft which is simple to navigate through if you are a Microsoft office user.
FTP
File Transfer Protocol - This is the protocol which allows the transfer of files between computers and servers.
 
MySQL
An open source database commonly used in web applications.
 
Perl
A scripting language commonly used to build CGI internet applications.
PHP
A scripting language for web pages, an alternative to Microsoft ASP pages.
POP3
Post Office Protocol- An internet protocol used in transferring electronic mail. A POP mailbox is simply an 'inbox' assigned to an e-mail address.
Pop-ups
An advertisement that pops up on your computer from a cookie or spyware on your computer.
SEO
Search Engine Optimization - The process of getting your website onto the natural search listings on search engines.

SSH
An encrypted communication method which prevents others from over the internet with other computers or servers.
SSL
Secure Socket Layer - An encryption protocol that enables a measure of security to prevent 3rd. party eavesdropping
Web Hosting
The act of publishing a website via. a server to the internet.
Web Mail
A specialized web page which allows a person to check their e-mail from an ordinary internet browser.
Web Statistics
Tracking statistics used by a web page administrator to determine traffic to a web site.
